Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta continues his official visit to Germany. Ponta will visit Daimler, the famous German group in Stuttgart. He will also hold talks with the company’s officials. We recall Daimler has announced an investment in Romania worth 300 million Euros. This past Monday Romania’s Prime Minister was received in audience by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The German top-ranking official said Germany wanted to be one of Romania’s partners, at once highlighting the importance of observing the rule of law, the judicial safety, as well as the fight against corruption.
The Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean is on a visit to Paris, at the invitation of his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. The Romanian high-ranking official will also be meeting Minister Delegate for European Affairs Thierry Repentin as well as the President of the National Assembly’s Foreign Policy Commission, Elisabeth Guigou. Romania and the Republic of Moldova, which is a former Soviet Republic with a predominantly Romanian-speaking population will set up a joint forum for justice, within which talks will mainly be focusing on the good practice in the field. The announce has been made in Chisnau today by the Romanian Justice Minister Robert Cazanciuc and his Moldovan counterpart Oleg Efrim. The two specified they would convene twice a year, at ministerial and expert level, respectively. In another move, Cazanciuc provided assurances Romania would continue to support the Republic of Moldova’s reforms in the justice sector, as part of the former Soviet republic’s European integration process.
