Despite rough weather predictions, Romanians flooded almost 30 museums across the country, on ‘European museum night’. Now at its 6th edition in Bucharest, the event held more than 10 museums open, among them the Village Museum, the National Art Museum, Romania’s National History Museum and the Ancient Book and Map Museum.

This ‘’cultural insomnia’’ also allowed for dance, film and theatre shows, alongside traditional dishes on display. An ‘Open Book Night’ was held in parallel, with books selling for discount prices. Also this weekend, Romania was the host of an event that had thousands of rock music fans running wild. Legendary band AC/DC gave a concert in Bucharest, drawing about 60 000 people of all ages. The audience was thrilled by the all-out show, ushered in by an unexpected opening involving a full-size steam train engine.

The Black Ice World Tour featured some of their greatest hits, including landmarks such as ’Thunderstruck’ and ’You Shook me All Night Long’. The ending was equally dramatic – ‘’For Those About to Rock’’ pounded on stage, with cannons and fireworks. A thrilling memory for the audience made up of Romanian, Americans, Japanese and Germans. It seemed that the fans felt the pricey tickets were well worth the show.
