The show that she put up in Romania’s capital, the second leg of the tour called The Born this Way Ball, after the one in Sofia, succeeded in meeting her fans’ expectations. On a huge stage, the largest ever used by an artist in Romania, the 26-year-old singer performed most of the songs that shot her to fame. Among them, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Alejandro’, ‘Just Dance’, ‘Born this Way’ and ‘Marry the Night’.

The stage design was unique, too, if we were just to mention the gothic castle, the flying hologram or the piano-motorcycle. And while choreography sometimes approached controversial themes, such as gay marriage, in communicating with the audience the artist was open and sensible. As usual, she changed many sets of clothes, in daring colors and with lots of accessories, a field in which she is known as a permanent innovator.

This month, Bucharest will host another long awaited for concert, that of the American band Red Hot Chili Peppers, which will meet their fans on the National Arena, opened last year. These two events in August are part of a rich artistic calendar this year, which has also included David Bisbal, Linkin Park, Guns n’ Roses, Evanescene, Roxette, Julio Iglesias, Michel Telo, Leonard Cohen, the Cranberries and Jennifer Lopez.
