The building you can see in this picture currently shelters the Sibiu Town Hall. Built in 1906 as the headquarters of the Land Credit Bank, the building was vehemently contested at the time due to its location between two important buildings in the Grand Square of Sibiu, namely the Roman –Catholic Church and the Brukenthal Palace, two Baroque style buildings. For 5 years, various interior design works were undertaken and in August 2006 the building was inaugurated as the Town Hall headquarters. It is a semicircle building which links the three historical squares of Sibiu: the Grand Square, the Small Square and the Huet Square. The ground floor of the town hall shelters a Tourist Information Center.
