The Romanian Senate passes the revised version of the referendum law, that allows for the suspension of the head of state with the vote of only half plus one of those who take part in the referendum. Romania’s former Prime Minister, the Social Democrat Adrian Nastase, aged 62, sentenced to serve a 2-year jail term, for corruption deeds, was operated on in a hospital in Bucharest, following a suicide attempt on Wednesday evening.
