- Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta denies the accusations of plagiarism made by the British scientific magazine “Nature”. Romania’s energy independence will lower and imports will reach 40-50% in 2030, because of the growing demand for primary energy and of the natural decline in the domestic hydrocarbon output. Hidroelectrica, Romania’s main electricity supplier, has asked the court to initiate insolvency procedures, because of the falling turnover and the increase in debts. The European Court of Human Rights has extended until April 2013 the deadline granted to Romania for drawing up new legislation on the restitution of property abusively seized by the communist regime. President Traian Basescu has said, fresh from a meeting he has had in Bucharest with German MP Susanne Kastner, that Romania has resources to achieve economic growth by absorbing European funds. At the moment, the Romanian economy is neither sicker nor healthier than the European countries, on an average, the Romanian President has also said. - “Radio Romania Junior”, Europe’s only public online radio station addressing children and parents, was awarded in New York as „The best online radio station.”
