Victor Ponta has made public the names of the future ministers, to hold portfolios in the new Romanian cabinet.
He made the announcement on Tuesday evening, in a press conference given jointly with the leader of the National Liberal Party,Crin Antonescu, and the leader of the Conservative Party, Daniel Constantin.
The cabinet will have a limited mandate, until the parliamentary elections, scheduled for November. The government has 17 portfolios and 4 delegate ministers.
It is made up of members of the Social Liberal Union (made up of the Social Democratic Party, the National Liberal Party and the Conservative Party) and by technocrats.
Ponta also made public some of the priorities of the future government, among which a coherent economic and fiscal vision, stability and predictability in Romania, the creation of new jobs, compliance with Romania’s foreign commitments, the protection of the country’s natural resources and zero tolerance to corruption.
The former cabinet, led by Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu, was sacked just two months and a half since it took office, following a censure motion filed by the Social Liberal Union.
