BUCHAREST – On Wednesday night, over 60 thousand people watched in Bucharest Madonna’s first concert in Romania, part of the “Sticky and Sweet” tour, promoting the singers’ latest album, “Hard Candy”. The tour started in Cardiff, Great Britain, in August 2008 and has been watched by over 2.3 million fans in 58 countries. Also dubbed the queen of pop music, Madonna has won several Grammy awards. Her next stop is Sofia.


MONTREAL – “Dacia, My Love”, a documentary film co-produced by HI Film Romania and the Thinklab, from Spain, will premier at the Montreal Film Festival between August 27th and September 7th. The film is a comic account of Romania’s development since communism up to the present day, through its most emblematic symbol, the Dacia automobile. The film is competing against another 40 productions in the Documentaries of the World section of the festival.


BUCHAREST – Over 200 people from Swtitzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Luxembourg, Italy, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Romania are attending in Brasov, central Romania, the 42nd International Mountain Trip for Peace. For three days the participants will tour the region, will fix the signs along the tracks they will hike in the mountains and will attended masses in the Roman and Greek Catholic churches in Brasov. The first edition of the event was held in Switzerland in 1968.
