Dear friends, as usual in November, RRI dedicates one day to you. It is called ‘LISTENERS’ DAY’ and it’s based on your written or recorded contributions. ‘Listener’s Day’ will fall on Sunday, 6 November 2011, right after Radio Day marked on November 1st, the day when back in 1928 the first radio program in Romania was aired.
2011 is the European Day of Volunteering, and on this Listener’s Day you are invited to write to us about your volunteer contribution. In the European tradition, volunteering is an important part of living a full life as a citizen of the community. Millions of people volunteer every day across the world in such domains as sports, society, the environment, healthcare, religion, culture, entertainment and education.
You are invited to tell us, here at RRI, about your experiences related to volunteering. Have you ever volunteered, and why? Do you know people who volunteer, and what are some of the experiences? Do you plan on volunteering, and if so, in what field? Write us your story on volunteering to share it with all our friends here at RRI on Listener’s Day.

You can also make your contributions by arranging a telephone interview with us to be recorded in our studios. Everyone who makes a contribution to Listeners’ Day will receive a dedicated diploma and the 10 best contributions will be awarded prizes.
