Starting May 16th, 2006, RRI presents a new opportunity for its listeners who tune in to the English program: a selection of shows broadcast using the podcast system, with the help of our partners from World Radio Network. Now you can listen to programmes like Living Romania, Romanian Without Tears, Letter from Bucharest, Radio Romania International Encyclopaedia, Traveller’s Guide on your portable mp3 player or on your computer. The programs for the English shows, updated every week, can be downloaded from the World Radio Networks’ web site at the following address: www.wrn.org/podcasting. Besides RRI, also benefiting from the new podcasting service are Radio Prague, Radio Slovakia International, Radio Poland, Radio Guangdong, from China, and RTE, the public Radio-TV Broadcasting company from Ireland. Podcasting is a new multi-media distribution platform, which allows users to download radio programs from the Internet, which can be listened to on mobile phones, PDAs, IPODs and other MP3 players, as well as on PCs.
